CAP and CAH give back to Stichting Siloam and 125 children in Bandabou
WILLEMSTAD, Curaçao – August 18, 2026 – For years, Stichting Siloam has been a source of care and support for children, families and individuals in Soto and surrounding communities. Through its ongoing efforts, the foundation has helped meet everyday needs, providing meals, food packages, school supplies and other essential support to those who need it most.
Among those they have supported for years are 125 children from Soto and surrounding communities. This year, Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP) and Curaçao Airport Holding (CAH) wanted to do something special for both the children and the organization that has continuously cared for them.
On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, CAP and CAH took over the organization and costs of Stichting Siloam’s annual Back-to-School initiative, giving the foundation and its dedicated volunteers a well-deserved moment of support while creating a memorable start to the new school year for the 125 children they serve.
Held at Landhuis Pannekoek, the event brought together the children for a morning of music, entertainment, food and plenty of smiles. CAP and CAH were honored to be joined on this special morning by the Honorable Minister of Economic Development Roderick Middelhof. Through their meaningful and inspiring words, they highlighted the importance of supporting children, families and community initiatives such as Stichting Siloam and expressed their appreciation for the impact of this initiative.
But beyond the celebration, every child went home with practical essentials to help them prepare for the new school year. Each child was given the opportunity to choose their own backpack, along with the school supplies and other necessities of their choice, from a variety of options available. They also received socks and a belt. As the cherry on top, every child was presented with an XCG 100 voucher to choose a pair of sneakers of their choice at Skechers.
For CAP and CAH, however, the initiative did not end with the children. Recognizing the impact Stichting Siloam continues to make throughout the year, CAP and CAH also presented the foundation with a financial contribution of XCG 30,000. This financial boost will support Stichting Siloam in continuing its beautiful and important work for the children, families and individuals who depend on its care and support.
“Stichting Siloam has spent years caring for others and making a real difference in the lives of these children and their families. Today, we wanted to take a moment to give back—not only by creating a special day for the children, but also by supporting the foundation so it can continue the important work it does for our community.”
– Ricardo Hernández, CEO, Curaçao Airport Partners
The initiative reflects CAP and CAH’s broader Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) commitment and their shared responsibility to make a positive difference in the communities in which they operate. More importantly, it was an opportunity to recognize and support an organization that has spent years putting others first.
“The strength of a community lies in how we care for one another. Stichting Siloam has shown that commitment for many years, and we are proud to support both the children they serve and the people behind this remarkable organization. We hope this contribution helps them continue bringing care, hope and opportunities to those who need it.”
– Wilhelmus Ignacio, Managing Director, Curaçao Airport Holding
Stichting Siloam has been there for its community time and time again. By taking care of this year’s Back-to-School initiative and contributing to the foundation’s ongoing work, CAP and CAH wanted to give back to those who have given so much. Because supporting a community also means supporting the people and organizations who care for it every day.
For us, being part of Curaçao means caring about the people and communities that make our island home. Supporting initiatives like this is one of the ways we can give back and make a difference beyond the airport. Because CUR is not just a place where journeys begin and end. CUR. More than a hello and a goodbye.
