Curaçao International Airport joins the ASUR airport network

Transaction completed, strengthening CUR’s international airport platform while ensuring continuity of operations and leadership
WILLEMSTAD, Curaçao – September 2, 2026 – Curaçao Airport Partners N.V. (CAP), concessionaire and operator of Curaçao International Airport (CUR), announces that the transaction through which Curaçao International Airport becomes part of the airport network of Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR) has been formally completed.
The completion follows CAP’s communication in November 2025 regarding the asset sale plan of its main shareholder, Motiva Infraestrutura de Mobilidade (formerly known as CCR). At the time, it was announced that ASUR would acquire Motiva’s airport assets, including its shareholding in CAP. CAP also reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining continuity of operations, leadership, and established stakeholder relationships at Curaçao International Airport throughout the transition.
With the transaction now formally concluded, ASUR joins Zürich Airport and Janssen de Jong as shareholders of Curaçao Airport Partners, marking the beginning of a new chapter for CAP, one that combines continuity and stability with new opportunities for growth, collaboration and development.
ASUR is a leading international airport operator headquartered in Mexico, with an established presence across the Americas, including Cancún International Airport. Through the completed transaction, ASUR expands its airport platform to include 20 additional airports across Latin America and the Caribbean, further strengthening its international scale and expertise. https://www.asur.com.mx/
For Curaçao International Airport, joining the ASUR network provides an opportunity to benefit from greater international experience, knowledge, best practices and opportunities for investment and innovation, supporting the airport’s continued development and Curaçao’s position as a regional hub for connectivity and tourism.
“The completion of this transaction marks an important new chapter for Curaçao International Airport. We are pleased to join the ASUR network and look forward to the opportunities this brings for our airport and for Curaçao. At the same time, our commitment to continuity remains clear: our local team, leadership, operations and established relationships with our partners and authorities remain in place. We will continue building on what we have achieved while leveraging ASUR’s international experience to further strengthen and develop CUR.”
— Ricardo Hernández, CEO, Curaçao Airport Partners N.V.
The change in shareholding does not affect the day-to-day operation of Curaçao International Airport. CAP’s local team, organizational structure, leadership, established points of contact and operational standards remain in place, with no disruption to airport operations anticipated as a result of the transaction. CAP will also continue to fully honor its obligations under the Concession Agreement (DOMA), applicable regulations and international standards governing the operation of Curaçao International Airport.
As CUR enters this new chapter, CAP remains committed to operational excellence, safety, service quality, sustainability and the long-term development of Curaçao International Airport, together with its employees, partners, authorities and the wider community.
